What is "The Blair Witch Cult"?
The Blair Witch Cult is a youtube channel dedicated to investigate and explore the legend (or legends...?) of the Blair Witch. Thousands of dissapearances, unexplained deaths, and mysteries, what really dwells inside of the Black Hills forest? What really happened to those filmmakers? Was the voices Rustin Parr heard the witch? We're here to answer all of those questions and more, or at least try. Fun fact, the name of this project is based on the book of the same name, a disputed but interesting piece of literature describing events caused by the blair witch and it's possible cult.
Who are you?
You can call me blairwitch_4k, i won't reveal my real name, obviously. You can't trust a lot of people, specially when investigating something like this. I don't want to be followed by the ones that claimed the 99' footage wasn't released earlier because it was "fake". I am an investigator, this case is extremely personal and important to me, to find the truth about the Blair Witch, we deserve to know.
Are you an actual cult?
No. I might be interested in her legend, but i don't fully know if she's even real, even though i am inclined to believe so, we are not a cult.
Wait, i thought Blair Witch was fictional?
That's common misinformation, The Blair Witch Project (1999) is real footage recovered from the Burketsville Black Hills forest, it's technically a movie because the footage was edited and released as a documentary by a film studio that was hired to publish the footage publicly for the public, that's why people make the mistake of thinking it's fake, the filmmakers actually went missing, same thing with Blair Witch (2016), the footage was found at the edge of the forest by an unknown internet user that uploaded it online, it got taken down but later released by a production company. The events and history are definetely real too. The witch? Who knows.
